Very little of Jack's past is known to Sole Purpose. Jack first arrived in Portland
two years ago, about the same time as Red Husted. Soon the two players were
kicking together regularly at Pioneer Square in the downtown area. Their styles
couldn't have been more different though; Red relied heavily on technical combos
and big moves, Jack glided through runs with a certain stylistic harmony not often
seen. These days Jack practices as much with Sole Purpose as he randomly plays
downtown, on the waterfront, or at Saturday market. Possibly the most visable
player in town, Jack may also be the most natural of all the footbaggers in the area.
Though he does not push high add ratio moves, he is considered to have the best
form of all the freestylers, and is without a doubt the best hacky-sack player
Portland has seen in a long time. Sometimes a lone samurai, Jack Martin is always
welcome at sessions, and is well respected by the Sole Purpose freestyle community.
